Tiare Kahana has been a hula dancer since childhood, and a yoga practitioner for over thirty years. In the early 80’s, she managed a women’s fitness studio in Glendale, California, with certifications with AFAA (American Foundation of Aerobics Association) and IDEA (International Dance Exercise Association). In 2006, she started Kahana Hula, the first Polynesian Cultural Arts and Luau Entertainment dance company in Connecticut. Becoming a certified yoga teacher was always one of Tiare’s goals, however, being diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2013 was the catalyst that launched her new direction.

Her 200-hour training was through CrossRoads Yoga Teacher Training with Crystal Sullivan and Shelley Nyren, in which she was introduced to the teachings of Joseph LePage, the founder of Integrative Yoga Therapy in the United States. Eager to share the healing abilities that helped her manage chronic pain, depression, and anxiety, Tiare completed training in Yoga For Arthritis with Ann Swanson and Yoga4Cancer with Tari Prinster. As a teaching and performing artist working with pre-k through middle school students, she completed the 95-hr Children’s Yoga Teacher Training with ChildLight Yoga. A perpetual student of life, Tiare is trained in Chair Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Tech Workers, Adaptive Yoga, and Qigong-Infused Yoga with Lynne Nicole Smith. Most recently, she completed Kripalu’s 300-hour certification as an Advanced Teacher of Integrative Yoga Therapy.

Tiare is honored to have the opportunity to work with Jackie Kubica-Aronoff and A Radiant Life to introduce her unique Hawaiian movement and yoga classes. Embodying essences of nature as taught in ancient wisdom of Hawaii (hula), China (qigong) and India (yoga) are beautiful healing arts and guides to living well. Having very similar experiences to Jackie, with chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, and depression, Tiare’s purpose is to empower others to find healing, comfort and ease from within, to embody aloha and live a life of radiant health and well-being.
